The 2008 Callander Jazz and Blues Festival featured over 50 live gigs as big bands, trad bands, jazz combos, vocalists, blues bands and a record number of national and international musicians all converged on the Trossachs for what is fast becoming one of the largest rural events of it's kind.

Loch Lomond Highland Games 2009

18th July - Balloch

The games are held each year in Balloch Castle Country Park, situated close to Balloch Castle on the shores of Loch Lomond.
The Games were started in July 1967 by a group of local businessmen who were keen to promote the area and restore its popularity with local people and tourists alike. Approximately 10-15,000 visitors come to the Games each year.

Lomond Mountain Rescue Team

Lomond is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in Scotland. It has been coming to the aid of walkers, climbers and tourists for over forty years, since its foundation in 1967.

The Team covers an area of over 1000 square miles in one of the most popular mountain areas of Scotland. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park sees over two million visitors a year, 50,000 walkers annually attempt the West Highland Way and Ben Lomond itself has over 30,000 walkers and climbers each year.
